Re: word translation

Had this problem three times in a row today!Text shown was obviously captured from old english books (prior to 19th century), where the lower case letter s was written in a fashion that it appeared to be an f (as per attached image).Being English, I naturally saw it for what it was, an s, so I typed s. Only to be told I had got it wrong!I had to type in 'Swanfea' to be permitted to continue. This is very wrong. The correct word being 'Swansea', a city on the South Wales coast. This was the third old English captcha I was offered that day, and became somewhat tired of Google's ill education! This requires some attention Googol! On Thursday, 12 July 2012 05:56:07 UTC+1, hutchtex wrote: lets say you are offered in recapcha an old english word where a f is used for a modern letter s.  In the digitization are these variables  accounted for automatically or reviewed separately. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "reCAPTCHA" group.
