Wtf reCaptcha?

Is there a reason that the real words in captchas are entirely legible yet the random letters are 6/10 illegible... to me it would make more sense to obscure the real word and make the random ones easily legible. I get very agitated when I have to re-enter a captcha 3-4 times. I know it's called reCaptcha but c'mon guys.. I had no problem ignoring them if i got them wrong the first time back when I was using voting systems for private WOW or MC servers, But lately its meant money, and time is money. CAPTCHA input is disabled

Hi, I am trying to set up reCAPTCHA in Magento (1.6.1). And I can get the CAPTCHA to show, but the input to type in it is disabled, Can anyone point out why that might be?
