Re: recaptchas now unusable

Hi Gowder,Really sorry that you are unable to sign up because of Google Recaptcha. But you should note that Google ReCaptcha is helping millions of websites worldwide by combating spam and bots on their behalf. ReCaptcha takes many things into factor while challenging you. For example if it thinks you're human it provides far simple one word captcha. However if it thinks you're a bot/spammer it provides a tough captcha. And by solving that captcha not only are you proving that you're human but you're also helping in improving maps and digitizing books. More information here: http://bit.ly/1L7u7i3 to you getting tough captchas, It might be because you are using a VPN/TOR or behind NAT. That means your IP address might have a not so good history. There are other reasons why you are getting tough captchas. But this might be your culprit.P.S: I don't work for Google. I'm just one web master satisfied by ReCaptcha. Also ReCaptcha evolved. It's now more intelligent. According to Google, it's Easy on Humans and Tough on Bots.On Friday, June 12, 2015 at 7:27:52 PM UTC+5:30, Paul Gowder wrote: At the following link, there are over a DOZEN attempts by me to decipher one of those idiotic recaptcha tasks.  This includes spaces between words, no spaces between words, attempting to fill in the random box that appears at the bottom, you name it.  Has google finally decided to break the internet by making it impossible for humans to sign up for anything?  Is the goal to actually bring more bots into the world, as anyone with access to a high-performance cluster just writes scripts to throw hundreds of thousands of random letters at every stupid "recaptcha" in the world? Is this some kind of cruel prank?   http://bit.ly/1cQ1vuQ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "reCAPTCHA" group.
