Randomly loading into fallback version.

Someone help us understand this... We're adding the new checkbox reCAPTCHA to some of our forms, and it started off working fine. As we began testing some edits we made to the form, the reCAPTCHA would randomly revert to its fallback version with the distorted text, and stay that way for some random amount of time. (This is happening inside the current version of Google Chrome.)
