using reCaptcha with vhosts

So I'm aware that by default that reCaptcha works with localhost (127.0.0.1) but I can't seem to display it using a vhost alias of wdr/indexhtml Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, or perhaps it wont display in this environment, can someone assist?
